The parks are part of the green system of the city of Dimitrovgrad, created to bring not only for aesthetic enjoyment and recreation of the population, but above all to improve the microclimate in the city, because of the industry.
“Penyo Penev“ Park was established as a park dedicated to the Brigadier Movement and the poet Penyo Penev. It was built according to a project to participate in the world exhibition of park art in 1961. In the best, unobtrusive way, here sculpture and architecture coexist with the park environment, a prime example of a synthesis between nature and art.
“N.Y. Vaptsarov“ Park is the oldest park in Dimitrovgrad. Alleys and places for recreation are built in a perennial oak forest. The local zoo and the Astronomical Observatory and Planetarium „Giordano Bruno“ are located within the park.
“Maritsa Park“ is the largest park in Dimitrovgrad. Its construction lasted 25 years. It starts from the very Center of the city, with most of it being located on a gorgeous river terrace on the right bank of the Maritsa River.
